With every Ceremony Booked, 1 Tree Is Planted

As you all know by now, I love the great outdoors!

I love walking amongst trees, breathing in their fresh scent; I love swimming in the sea and burying my toes in the sand; I love feeling fit on my paddleboard as I work my muscles, gliding across the river; I love camping under the stars and feeling totally mind-blown when I look up at the gazillion suns, planets and stars that twinkle down on us.

It’s so humbling and makes me feel so grateful to have such awesomeness on my doorstep. That is why I encourage outdoor ceremonies, so we can be a part of this amazing life.

However, with the climate changing so drastically, who’s to say what will become of our planet for my son, our children, and their generation?

We try and do our bit as a family: recycling, solar power, electric car, water meter, water butts, composting, less meat dinners, choosing organic where we can, walking instead of driving, to name but a few. It then got me thinking, “How can I help further through my work?”

Sustainable Celebrants

Being a celebrant is pretty sustainable. Our ultra-low operational footprint is great; client discovery, script revisions, contracts, and invoicing can all be handled digitally without printing or dedicated premises. We can meet over Zoom; we can keep travel to a minimum; we re-wear our ‘smart’ outfits for ceremonies.

We can even advise and guide clients, couples, and families away from environmentally damaging elements (e.g., balloon releases, plastic confetti, floral foam) and instead suggest biodegradable or rented alternatives. We frequently connect with local suppliers, which ties in nicely. Connecting with local florists means more use of seasonal and native flowers. Regional caterers use local produce, helping small local businesses thrive plus going local cuts out travel emissions.

And because we can hold a ceremony anywhere you choose, without being tied to a licensed venue, it's easy to celebrate in open-air meadows, woodlands, coastal spaces, and gardens; it also reduces energy-intensive heating or lighting requirements.

As you can see, we Celebrants are pretty eco-friendly. But I thought I’d take it one step further…..

Proud partner

I have teamed up with Ecologi, a certified B Corp dedicated to funding verified global climate projects. So every ceremony booked with me here at Everlong Ceremonies supports responsible tree planting and certified carbon reduction initiatives.

Your booking guarantees one tree planted in the UK or abroad- that’s your choice- ensuring your celebration helps protect and restore the natural world.

That is my gift to you and the planet.

The more ceremonies I do, the more trees I get to plant and the more I help environmental projects thrive. You never know; one day we may have planted an entire forest!

If this is something I can help to make our great outdoors survive and for future generations to enjoy and benefit from, then my work is done.

Let’s get your ceremony booked and that forest started!
